The Lost Spells has been described by Robert Macfarlane as a sibling to The Lost Words, and the duo have been working on its creation for the past two years. Initially they planned twelve poems but it has evolved into a pocket-sized treasure featuring twenty-one spells, including Red Fox, Moth, Silver Birch, Thrift and Barn Owl. Due to be published on the 1st October our event in Dunster was to be one of the few where both of its creators would have been appearing at the time of its launch. We can of course now look forward to welcoming them both in 2021.

Our venue for this magical evening is the magnificent medieval tithe barn in Dunster. There will of course be food and if you have attended one of our events before then you know to expect music. Therefore, it is a delight that Somerset singer and songwriter, Kitty Macfarlane, will be joining the proceedings.

We are honoured that both Robert and Jackie are able to celebrate their new book with us in West Somerset. As you can imagine they are much in demand following the phenomenal and international success of The Lost Words. Our Exmoor event promises to be a truly memorable evening, and no doubt quite an emotional one, following this exceptionally unusual time.

Tickets are priced at £35 per person and will go on sale once we feel that our plans can proceed safely. If you wish to join us and would like to ensure a ticket is reserved in your name contact Number Seven Dulverton directly
