Jackie Morris

book signing at Number Seven Dulverton

Saturday 28th September 2019

10am - 3pm

join us for an inspirational day in the company of the

2019 CILIP Kate Greenaway Medal award winner

It has been yet another astonishing year for Jackie Morris since her last visit to Number Seven. The Lost Words was awarded the 2019 CILIP Kate Greenaway Award, the most prestigious award for her profession - a high accolade and so well deserved.

The Lost Words has gone onto inspire the folk collective Spell Songs and both Jackie and Robert Macfarlane are still quite dazed by the books reception, nationally and internationally.

Jackie will be resident by the fireside in 'the kitchen' at Number Seven, painting, and chatting and will of course sign copies of her titles for you.

Alongside her books, prints and originals will be available to view and purchase.

Fresh of the press and both available for this event are The House Without Windows and The Secret of the Tattered Shoes. . .

The House Without Windows £12.99

Publication Date 3rd October 2019

First published in 1927 and written by a child of just twelve years old, The House Without Windows is an extraordinary paean to the transcendent beauty of the natural world, and the human capacity to connect with it.

Copies sold at Number Seven Dulverton will be stamped with a silver mountain hare which will make them just that little extra special.

The Secret of the Tattered Shoes £12.99
Publication Date 26th September 2019

A fresh interpretation of the beloved Brothers Grimm fairy tale about twelve princesses who are locked in at night, yet whose dancing shoes are still worn down by morning. Jackie’s dark and poetic text updates this well-known tale and shows how stories evolve and adapt over time. Beautifully illustrated by Ehsan Abdollahi.
